faked beans

Recipes that work best for teardroppers

faked beans

Love baked beans but never take the time to plop them in the oven.

I have converted to stove top recipes of various different combinations

Last night started out as just another experiment.

Took a 12 oz +/- can of cheap packer brand pork and beans ( kinda bland)

To zip things up a bit I added 2-3 teaspoons of wostershire sauce and 3 tablespoons of steak sauce then the sweet and sour bug struck me.......

So I added a glug of coctail sauce and a golf ball sized lump of light brown sugar.

I let it warmed in a sauce pan while I cooked a hamburger steak with onions.

I made one mistake I taste tested the beans. I ate half of the pan full while standing at the stove.
Growing older but not up !

If I have some cheap beans I want to doctor up, I add chili powder, garlic powder, and some fresh chopped onions. If I'm real lazy, I'll use bottled minced onions instead of fresh, but there is a HUGE difference in flavor.
