ziplock bag omlets

can't find the post to thank them,,,,but these are great,,,,no mess, no clean up,,,,thro in some precooked jimmy deans or some spam and you have breakfast,,,,also thanks to the member that posted bout the pie iron,,,I usually cook just for myself and this would be perfect,,,,lookin forward to trying one....

hey are really great onions peppers ham potatoes [precooked] and cheese. Cooked them for our rescue team one time they said they where better then a restraint omelet. Try them you'll like them and clean up is easy and quick. 13mim in boiling water

Water at a boil is important....steamed omelets don't work as well.

We found that out at the Indiana Fall Gathering, didn't we.

Our family was next to Gerry and his wife. My kids made bag omlets. The water was not boiling and it took FOREVER.

If you go to the Walk the Winds gathering in 2013, you might get to try them. We did this at the 2012 gathering:

You can see, in the background of the picture below, that we put our omelet bag in a red plastic cup and folded the edges of the bag over the cup so it would be easier to handle while deciding what we wanted to put in our individual omelettes. If I remember correctly, we used freezer bags. We closed them and wrote our names on them with a sharpie marker before they were dropped in the boiling water. In the foreground, you see two cooked omelettes, still in their bag. (Sorry about cutting somebody's head off in the picture....My bad.)
