Oh Dean, you sure know how to make a guy hungry! Mmmm, Bacon!

Love it!!!!

A quick question, How long will the bacon keep in the fridge after it's been smoked? I know I can freeze it, but I was curious so I would know how small to make my slabs.

I generally freeze my bacon after it's been in the fridge for seven days, just to be on the safe side...

That looks so tasty, I miss bacon. I watch my sodium very closely and this looks very tempting.

We tried smoking our own bacon last weekend using the regular BBQ and I wasn't happy with the temps I was getting; too high. So I decided to try making a cold smoker using the little hot smoker I made from a camp oven a couple of years back.
An old pressure cooker from value village, copper pipe from the scrap bin, fifteen minutes and voila.
I had smoke in about ten minutes and after 1/2 an hour the air temp in the smoker is still only 64 Fahrenheit.
Best part? I can still use it as a hot smoker!

That's Great!! I've been dying to try making my own pastrami. Now this is definitely on the list.

Thanks, KC

I have a Roku box attached to my TV, and I subscribe to the YouTube channel on the box. I actually watched this video again yesterday afternoon. As a bacon fanatic, I think it is great.

Thanks, Mike! We sure do enjoy our homemade bacon. Makes it hard to go back even the best thick sliced store bought. :D The Teardrop Nanny

I love Dean and Joanie's recipes. My all time favorite is their Dutch Oven Lasagna. We make it just about every time we go camping. If we ever make it out their way, We'd sure like to meet them.
