Grilled Asparagus at Christmas Dinner

Postby jandmz » Sat Jan 03, 2015 12:40 am

At camp, we sometimes cook asparagus on the grill, so when someone asked for ideas for side dishes for Christmas dinner that weren't "the same old thing", I offered to do grilled asparagus. We just cut the hard ends of the stalks and put them in a ziplok bag with Italian dressing and a bit whatever Mrs Dash we have on hand, and let it marinate overnight. About 20 minutes before dinner, we fire up the gas grill, put the broiler pan rack on the grill and let it heat up. Lay the stalks out on the rack and just keep rolling them around until they start to brown. Serve while its still warm. It was the first veggie to be gone...
