An A+++++++++++++ They look awesome. Before I place my order can you tell me how you attached them to the Cubby?

Great

Bill,

In the pictures they are not attached. They are just balanced on the brackets that came with the trailer. However, when I get around to permanantly attaching them, they will be drilled and bolted to the frame in the front and the back. I did not put backing in for fenders, so, I will have to drill and put something into the side wall of the Cubby to attach them to the body section. I am going to use either fender welting or some kind of rubber bushing between the tear and the fender.

Kerry, we used 1x3/16th foam weatherstripping along the face of the mounting flange...it really seems to have worked well...we like it(KIT FG repro fenders from RWJohson)

WOW! I can not believe that it has been since Sep when I last posted to this thread!!

First I have to apologize to everyone that is interested in these fenders. Some things just did not go as I had thought and some other things were just beyond my control. :x

Anyway, I am now in a postion to start offering these fenders if anyone is still interested. I am working part time now and will be for a couple of months. That means that I should have some time to make the fenders.

I will post some more specific information in a few days.

Hi Kerry,

I'm still interested in getting 2 sets from you. Since I'm still WAY off from needing to put them on the Cubbys, the delay hasn't been a problem. I'm just glad you're able to move forward on them again!

I'll watch for the details and we'll make a plan once they're posted.

ONLY 12" at this time. They might be OK for 13", but I have not tried them with that size wheel/tire. I am in the process of developing another style for the 12" wheels and my get to the 13" and 14" sometime, but the 14" and larger already have lots of choices of styles and there was not much for the 12" wheels out there.

Kerry, when my wooden fenders start to disintegrate, I'll be ordering.

But if you had this done 6 months ago, you would have saved me a TON of aggravation:

Took me a month to make my stupid fenders.
Here we go again!

Some folks seem to question the strength of my fenders, so here's a picture of me (approx 220lbs) standing on one of my fenders.

Image

If properly mounted on a teardrop, you should be able to sit or even stand on them without harm. (Why you would want to is beyond me!)

How do you recommend them to be mounted? Can one just drill through the inner lip and screw them to the side wall of the trailer? I don't have a great deal of room between the tire and the trailer wall since I am taking the side wall down to cover the trailer frame. Right now I have about 1" between tire and trailer.
Thanks Philip

Kerry was good enough to bring a pair of his fenders up to our TearJerkers winter outing and show them off.

Image

All agreed that the quality as well as their looks were very well done. He's running a special on them now. Get them while there hot.

Happy Trails
