Ron, No the Kampmaster is still available!! I think I'm going to clean it up and go to the Beaver's Bend camping outing and show it off a little. That is unless some one gets serious before then. I can get it to california if any of you west coasters are wondering.

reo-ron,

Have you considered bringing it to Sweetwater near San Diego in April. There is always a few teardrops that sale there. Plus a lot of people will see it.

Have a good day.

That display has ended so therefore it's no longer there.

Have a good day.

Just an update on the Kampmaster for sale . I have not really tried to sell it but I get an occational e-mail inquiry, plus lots of scam BS . I will have the trailer at the Grand Lake,OK gathering in Sept if anyone wants to get up close to an original survivor ( and maybe take it home with you ) The real cash money price is $3000 . It kinda needs to go away before winter so I can build my new Modernistic Cub Replica. I will also have the trailer at Queen Willimena State Park,Arkansas this weekend if your up that way.

The Kampmaster has a new home and a new convert to teardropping!! A buddy of mine had decided to get a small camper to pull behind his 1950 Ford F-1 . It is powered by a Mercedes 300 turbo diesel with an automatic. It gets 25 MPG and should pull the Kampmaster with no trouble. Look for and ol' yellow truck with and ol' Kampmaster at a teardrop gathering near you.

Thats what happens when your flathead truck motor is tired and you see a wrecked Benz. I have a diesel bug (45 mpg) and I'm looking for a donor car ,probally a 5cyl diesel for a 48 Chevy P/U. It's really a pretty clean install.

Ron,

Glad to hear that's a viable swap. I was thinking of putting a Mercedes Diesel in a 57 Chevy shortbox, and possibly running it on vegi oil. Any idea what kind of HP a 5 cyl Mercedes Diesel puts out?

I'd love to see some pics of his swap, if any are availible.

My wife has a TDI Beetle, & I've thought of putting a Rabbit diesel in my Baja Bug.

I think the 300TD puts out about 150HP. I'll try to get some pics later and send them on PM . I'm working on Mark to come to Minden, hopefully you can see it there.

That would be great, I'd love to see it. Unfortunatly, I will probably only be there for a couple of days, have a previous commitment for the 17th. Luckily we only live about 7-8 hours away.

150hp doesn't sound too bad, that's for the turbo model? I don't plan to use the truck for anytjhing much more than driving back and forth to work, it should be plenty of hp.
