Looking for a Teardrop in AZ

Postby spfarley » Sat Mar 18, 2006 6:11 pm

Hi. My husband and I have been bitten by the teardrop bug. We would love to own one, but don't have thousands of $$$ to spend. We are willing to drive to any of the neighboring states for a good deal. If nothing else, we would like to find one that is towable, in decent shape, but may need some work. My husband does not want to build one from scratch, as he does not know how to weld. Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Pat F :applause:

Pat,

Welcome to the forum...

Hang out here awhile... If you don't find anything you can buy, maybe we can talk you into bolting together a trailer (since he can't weld).

But whether you build or buy, you're going to learn lots here! ;)

Welcome to the forum!

If it is any consolation, there are Carry-On brand of trailers known as 4x8 NF (No floor) and 5x8 NF's available at Tractor Supply.

There are also two bolt-together trailers available out there: Harbor Freight, and Red Trailer.

Plus, hang around here long enough, and you might find a member who can come to you to do the welding once you have the steel measured and cut ready to weld.

Keep your chin up, you can do it!

Emiller,

Do you have a picture of your work.

I'm interested.

building a frame

Postby spfarley » Sat Mar 25, 2006 1:55 pm

EMiller,
Thanks for the info. How much welding is involved? I mean, is the frame just the trailer part with the wheels, or is it the whole shape of the tear drop? I am so confused!?!?!?! :?

I know we want something 5 x 10, with 2 doors. We saw a sweet one at the Saturday night "cruise" on 83rd Ave, and it was a reasonable price, but it only had one door.

I guess the first step is to look at plans. I will let you know about the frame.

Thanks for the info!

Pat I'm glad we talked again at 83rd (cruise nite) at Safeway. We will have you a teardrop real soon. And again if you need anything just stop by again at Safeway or call anytime. We are here for anyone building a teardrop or anything else.
