Hey glampergirl...don't fall for Jawbone's "wonky back" line. He's just trying to get someone to carry his firewood in for him.

Jawbone...think you can pop over for dinner on saturday? You and Brenda are always welcome, even if you aren't camping.
Hope the back feels better, I know they can be a real bi**h to get rid of. Any news on the musical front? Still playing?

 Oh my!

Sandy and John - with at least 4 of us there, should we aim for an impromptu dinner or dessert on the Saturday night?
Jawbone - hope to meet up with you too if it works out between the parties.

Anyone else out there??? Come on, get out there! Start the season at Awenda with us. Get together and share some stories, and show off your trailer!

Hi Glampergirl.
Dinner get together on Saturday sounds like a plan.
John: have you booked a site yet? Bring the kayak...calm waters on Kettle's lake from the reports I've read. (and judging by today's weather, better bring the mittens too)
Jawbone: Now I know why your wife is always rolling her eyes. (carrying wood indeed).
See you there

Hey Sandy - Boy, did Brenda ever get excited last fall when I told her "I had enough wood for the whole winter" :FNP
Her face really dropped when she spotted the chainsaw and realized she may have misunderstood   :o

If the weather looks decent we are going to try to get out - I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a fair weather camper!!!!

Hey Jawbone...it's Ontario in May. I'm sure the weather will be grand. Surely you don't want to miss opening weekend. Besides, The long range forecast is for warm dry weather (I just hope it's for here).
Actually, this will be the earliest I've been out camping since I was a boy scout...hence the electric site and a heater. Camping doesn't have to be a chore, right?

Hey thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable weekend. Cudos to everyone for making the potluck supper absolutely scrumptious! (I still say Sandy's lemon cake reigns supreme!)

Hi all:
That was a good weekend. Quiet park, good food, friendly campers. Thanks for joining in. Glad everyone made it home safe and sound.
Nice to see your back held out over the hike Jawbone...maybe we should think about Cypress Lake this year. Is it too early to start planning a fall campdown?
As for the food...fresh brownies warm from the stove...gotta like that. Thanks Maureen, you've brought a new level to the game...

Hope to see you all again soon.

Hey - I am totally in favour of Sandy and Maureen battling to have the best dessert!!!! :applause: :applause:
I cut the grass on the big half of the back yard yesterday - according to my pedometer - 8.25 km - I think I may be ready for Cypress!!!
Sandy - if you can get on facebook you will see what showed up in my back yard again - Moose!!!! Got better pictures this time.
And it looks like John took home a Bear, now wandering around Milton!!

Firefly...
You missed a perfect weekend weather wise (IMHO). There was still lots of room in the park, guess most thought it might be too early to get out. Biggest plus for me was the absence of bitting insects (save for a few black flies). I'm sure the mosquitoes will be out soon.
As for the lemon cake...just a simple mix. Everything tastes better cooked over a fire (especially if someone else does the cooking!!) come on out to the next get together and you'll see how easy it is.
