Need Dog Friendly Camground near Ottawa

Postby Yoyoman » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:44 pm

Hi All;

We are heading to Ottawa.
One Teardrop, One 85lb Bernerse Mountain Puppy (9mths)
Matt and myself.
We need a base somewhere near Ottawa and than day trips to
various sites.
If anybody knows of doggy day care, or Campgrounds with dog sitting.
It would be appreciated.
All grown-ups were children first.
(But few remember it).

I don't know of any campgrounds in Ottawa with petsitting, but that is a clever idea. Anyhow, Rideau River Provincial Park just south of Kemptville off 416 is as dog-friendly as any provincial park is. The NCC parks in the Gatineau Hills are not dog-friendly at all. Just so you know.

I have used this kennel in Greely a few times. They have a very modern & clean site and are very friendly & professional. http://www.bedsfortails.com/index.htm.

The Petsmart at Hunt Club & Merivale Road in Nepean and the Petsmart at Innes & Cyrville in Gloucester have doggie day cares too. I find them pricey and the dogs don't get to go outside, but they do save on driving and have flexible hours.

Enjoy your visit to Ottawa.
