Hi all.
It's been a long time between posts for me...still out here enjoying the camping though. Traded the teardrop for a slightly larger unit (bigger and silver, and the wife likes it...that's important).

Just wanted to remind the locals that 2018 marks the 125 anniversary of the establishment of the provincial park system in Ontario, and to invite anyone who happens by to stop and say hi (maybe enjoy a cold 'pop' as well) when they might be camping nearby. There are special events planned by the parks. Go to their website for info and dates.

Personally, I'm going to Port Burwell PP May 25-27 (site 154) with the Ontario tearjerkers (not an organizer, just a participant). Always a good time with this group. I'll be at Awenda July 28-30 (site 242)...looking forward to the special events put on by Ontario Parks during this weekend. Last tearjerker roundup is at Resoule PP on Sept 7-8 in Kettle campground. I've booked a lakeside site if anyone wants to stop and say hi. Just call out for Sandy, and tell me how thirsty you are. That camping business can be tough.

Hope to see you out by the fire.
Sandy

Remember that it's always a great time to camp in Ontario...especially this year!

You'll be passing by our area (Waterford) on the way there. I might have to come out and see some of these tears in person. We haven't built yet, still in the planning stages. We use the provincial parks but go north to parks like Mississagi, Esker lakes or Wakami and Silent lake either really early or late in the season when nobody's there.

Where can I find the schedule or site for the Ontario tearjerkers?

HI Zomby Woof.
You can check out all the tearjerker stuff at tearjerkers.net
Think you may have to join up to view the postings.
The local (Ontario) chapter meet in the spring and fall. All are welcome, trailer or not. They are a great bunch to camp with, and a mix of built and bought trailers. If you are looking for build ideas come out and ask questions. My teardrop will be for sale this spring if you are looking to skip the build phase and just go camping... :D

Hmm. Restoule looks somewhat interesting and is within my striking distance but I'll probably not be ready to go anywhere with my trailer this year. I'll have to check out tearjerkers. Maybe if i'm on a long weekend and not working on my trailer i'll take a drive over there and explore a bit - day trip.. looks like it is about a 2 hour drive from where I usually base camp at my parent's homestead.

I may have to decide whether to go back to the baron canyon though.. I really want to go back there again during better weather
