Galley-less teardrops

Postby LDK » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:55 am

I'm looking for pictures of teardrops built without galleys and I'm not having very good luck finding any. If anyone finds any please post them on this thread. I don't know if I would ever build one but I might. It would be nice to capture as much interior space as possible but still have a small profile. Plus it would cut down on leaks and would be easier to build. If I ever do build another one it will most definitely be wider than 4 feet and it will also have 2 doors instead of 1.

You have been on my 4x7 thread so I know you have seen IT !

I did not miss the galley thanks in large part to the 10 x 10 first up and the dual bat wing tables. This combination made a great little "kitchen"

It's not shaped like a teardrop, but there is no galley. Click on my links below.

I bought a used Little Guy 5 x 8 Silver Shadow that came without a galley (or a mattress for that matter)

Yes, I did want a galley (in the begining) but it sure is nice to have that room inside ... to store items at the foot of the mattress and to make it easier to change clothes. An 8 footer is nice this way ... at this point I don't think I'd want a galley unless the TD was at least 10 ft long.

Hey Bob

Thats right you don't have a galley in the 4x7,I remember now.
There was another person that built one but I forgot his user name. If I ever do build another teardrop it will have to have more interior room to please my wifey.

Bob

Those side tables are a great idea for a galley-less teardrop.

I'm just completing a 4 x 9 without a galley. I will have a cooking slide out drawer but it is as yet the only thing that isn't built. I'll pm you when I can get some pictures or post here if its soon. I went that route so my interior would be more open and still have a decent interior cabinet as well as a limited cooking station outside.

I tore the galley out of my Little Guy Silver Shadow. It just didn't cut it for me.
Not really enough room for food preparation, and inefficient storage.

Its more versatile now.

Larry (LDK) I gotta say I told you so on the doors and the wider tear bud  :D ! My first tear DoDropIn in my album does not have a gally but since it is is 4x6 1/2 still to small but is lite weight. Now one thing I have seen is there was a GA guy on here who has since sold his, had a slide out galley so at night the had all the inside to sleep in.
Cliff
In God we trust, shoot the rest and he will sort out!
