Verna,

Let me look at my truck and see if it works before you try it. I'd hate it if you burned up something on a brand new truck because of a link I posted... :?

You guys don't shop??? I didn't know that ! <snickering>. Yes, Bruce has even come up with pictures. I can understand that. Now I might have to remove the jumper when I take it in for service. They told me Friday that bypassing the "off" feature could void my warranty. This is so much easier than running wires to a separate 12V plug that I would install. And I did check the charging wire in the 7 pin plug today. It is also off when the engine is turned off. (Is it obvious this is my first non-GM or non-Ford vehicle?)

I just looked at the fuse box and the photo is nowhere close to what we have. I'll do some checking and see if I can find the correct relay...

Maybe not the most practical of tow vehicles, but it sure looks (and sounds) spectacular.
It is a 1986 Ford Capri 2.8 injection Special. Built in Germany for the English market, it has the Cologne V6, 5sp box and other sports enhancements.

Very nice! I tow mine with a Mazda Miata (MX-5 in the rest of the world).

I am not real particular when it comes to a tow rig. I do have a couple basic requirements. It must be 4 wheel drive, true 4 wheel drive not AWD. It must have a real transfercase, one with a locked center and low-range. I also believe in a 31" tall tire. I have found there isn't much real world wheeling that can't be done with a 31". Hell I wheeled most of MOAB with a car on 27's. Six cylinder or larger, preferably 4L or greater. Must have seating for 4 people. Here is mine that fits the bill perfectly.

The log skidder. Tows fairly well, 258ci with a 4.0L head, custom EFI built by me, locking diffs, straight axled.

The log skidder all cleaned up sitting on some Bling Bling for a night on the town. Gotta love long roofs!

Short vid of the 2dr on 27's in MOAB.

Can't argue with that. ;)
Our old Land Rover does it pretty well pulling the boat and that is 3500kg hooked on behind. It's a '71, so before they were fitted with a V8. This has been transplanted with an Australian made Chrysler 245ci Hemi in line six.

Every time I see an old Land Rover. I think of "the antichrist" in "the gods must be crazy"

Terrific film...

I'll second that, we died laughing watching that movie.
That was back in the day when you went to your local corner video store and rented a VHS cassette, I thought when it first started that they had given me the wrong movie and put a National Geographic movie in the case by mistake.

:) Yippee! I just bought a 2015 Subaru Forester 4 cyl. Premium with CVT. I'm 6'4" tall and it fits me very well. Love driving it. The gas mileage is better than any vehicle I've ever owned...up to 32 mpg. Averaging 26+ mpg so far. I'll soon install a class III 2" Hidden Hitch, a Prodigy P3 brake controller, and wire it up for a 7-way trailer connector so that the Forester can charge up the teardrop's battery when I'm towing it. It'll be a good daily driver and tow vehicle too. Hope to get many years of use with it.
