Thank You Everyone for your feedback, I have been a Ham for over 40 years. I have an IC 735 HF rig plus 2m rig in our Tear. This summer I have made lots of great contacts on both. I built fold down mounts for my Ham Stick Antennas and will be happy to pass along my plan. If your going to install one of the older larger HF rigs you may want to mount it on some type of rubber mount (power supply also). Our Tear does "Hop" a bit down the road. Feel Free to call me for info. 505-323 3659. On our last trip I ran on solar power and I do send out cards from the "Tear" for all contacts.

I'm looking to get my Technician License and I picked up an inexpensive handheld on eBay to start with. If I like it I will get something a little bit more powerful. I'm looking forward to seeing more on this thread!

Bob,
don't post my call letters I don't know why a ham would want vanity ham call letter plates, either. If you were on the road a person can take down your call - then check your FCC public record address and see if they have enough time to burglarize your house.

I have my Technician test scheduled for the 24th of November. I've studied but keep getting 1-4 wrong on the practice tests. I should be acing them by now. I also just got my little 2 meter handheld in but for some reason it was missing the antenna. They have one coming but it will take a while since it is coming from China!

Nice looking Handheld, lots of Hams in Albuquerque have the same rig and all like them a lot, with no problems. Good Luck with your test I bet you get a 100% !!!
