I did check that, and I tightened the nut under the hitch so there isn't a lot of internal slack.

My weights were unloaded, but I am suspicious that is can only be a guide. In real life, a load will change the way it works.

I won't be home for another 10 days, but when I get there I'll do a bit more checking, and I may well move the axle a few inches. It doesn't take long. Meanwhile I'll make sure there is plenty of weight on the front.

Next week I'll be on a boat playing tourist, and out of touch.
