Hi Mike,
Check this out:

http://www.automorrow.com/articles/toyhobo.html

I've got an '87 Toyota cargo also. I chose it because the cargo area is comparable to the interior of a teardrop. I wanted a mini-mini-motorhome that is just big enough to be comfortable sleeping and Toyota's reliability didn't hurt either. The cargo area measures 86"L X 58"W X 48"H. I prefer an open interior as opposed to the above but he does show what can be done with a small space.

As long as we're looking at different ideas, how about a pop-up tent teardrop:

All you need is a small trailer with a platform to set it on. :)

And to carry on, how about this for the child who wants to have thier own trailer (scroll down to pic at bottom of page.

There is a show this weekend and I plan on going to it. Maybe there will be a little teardrop there! If it's there I'll get some better pics to post.

Great ideas!

That first one is pretty revealing though.

Tentcot needs to make one for 2 people.

The popup is awesome too. Simple and practical.

Keep em coming!

What's the story on this trailer? Who makes it? Where can I get more info? What does the floor plan look like?

The tiny trailer in the avatar is designed to carry our recumbents and sometimes sleep in. We LOVE having a kitchen in the woods and a place for most of our gear.

VERRY interesting! And complicated--that tent is amazing. Someone has a very clever approach to the teardrop thing.

DanD, thanks, that's an awesome pop-up!

Campadk, check that Tentcot site again. They do make a double!
