More on FILON

Postby drksm » Wed Nov 07, 2007 4:32 pm

Hello, it has been several weeks since I lasted checked in. I just got a call from my wife and my filon was delivered today. So, now that the process is over I will relate my experience. It has taken about a month but it has arrived and seems to be in good condition. The final numbers are 1$/sf plus $25 for the "box" and $128 to ship it from WI to CO. I bought 50 ft x 6 ft wide grand total under $500 for everything. A good deal compared to the $1300 the local RV dealers wanted. I have never spoken to Glenn and have always had email communications. He has been quick to respond to my questions. As I said it took about a month but I could have probably sped it along a week sooner. For me, I have been spending the past month or so collecting all the supplies and materials for my build and my trailer frame arrived only just yesterday so the timing was fine for me.

I mentioned initially (a month ago) that I was a "newbie". At this point I guess there is nothing left to do but get to work on my trailer!! At some point I will click over to the newbie page and properly introduce myself and start contributing my build experience to the forum.

I would like to pass along Glenn's business to the group. He has the best price I have found online and locally, and he delivered. I am sure he would appreciate any referals he could get.

I just sent off a check for the Filon. Glenn says he's running low on Filon so everyone had better contact him quick if they want some:
[email protected] worked for me.

Update

I have not received any Filon from Glenn after a month of waiting. He hasn't been answering emails either. I wouldn't buy anything from him until this is sorted out.

Filon

Postby Shorty » Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:26 pm

Let the Buyer beware. Stay away from the Glenn. I very recently sent him a check for Filon about a month ago and have not received a thing. In fact, now that he has the money, he won't reply to emails....This guy scammed me. He costed me $310. Things that are to good to be true usually are.

New Filon Dealer

Postby NWBeerKat » Fri Feb 13, 2009 10:34 pm

I asked a Rep. for Colaws RV Salvage if they carried Filon. He said they had it in 8' wides rolls at $10 a linear foot. $1.25 a square foot sounds good to me. I think he said it include adhesive. Colaws is a large salvage dealer in Missouri. I think I will drive down there when I get my build started. Here's the link:
