Pet cool

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Mike not that cold here in Arizona but the petcool will heat up my teardrop easier and quicker than cooling it down in the summer. I have used it when it's been high 30's and low 40's and have had to turn it off because it got to warm in the trailer.

I'm assuming if it has a heating coil in it for heat, it is just an a/c unit.

Yes, the PetCool uses a heating coil for the heating.

Heck, that's just 40 miles away from me. Wonder what kind of deal they would make me if I picked one up there.

Decision time... I do have a pet cool.. but have decided for cold winter camping, it is easier to just get a cheap box heater.... no need to drag out the p/c at night in freezing weather.... especially when just stopping for the night.

Where is the Petcool manufactured??

From skimming this thread it appears that it is no longer made in the U.S.A.

I'd guess you are right... mine is 3 y/o, so not sure.. but last year, sounds like they were waiting for a freighter to arrive with the load.

I found a seller on EBay. I asked him if he knew where they are manufactured. He responded back today.

Made in China.

It is getting really hard to find something that is not made in China.

I was interested in the mechanicals and was thinking that the unit reminded me of the small units used to cool critical electrical component enclosures, about 2,000 btu. I found a number of suppliers but ultimately decided the pet cool made the most sense and bought one for $420 including shipping off Ebay.
I will be interested in folks install pictures/ideas.
