Who Know's This Seller?

Postby Ross Wade » Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:47 pm

Well, it has happened to me. Does anyone know who this E-Bay seller is? It would have been nice to have been asked for the use of my picture.

Seems like a pretty popular practice

Email them and ask them to take it down. If they don't, complain to Ebay.

I'd go straight to ebay, unless you want to deal straigt on with the guy.
If you want to do that; but it, pay for it with PayPal and you will get the dude's name.

Ross, I was going to email you last night about this. Did you notice that they have there names plastered on all thier pictures. 'Les_Lea'

I think I would go right to Ebay with that. I guess you could contact then about removing the pictures and let them know if they don't, then you'll be reporting them to ebay. If you check his feedback, you'll notice he's real quick to report bad buyers to ebay.

Have a good day,
Gage

P.S. I think I'll send the dude an email and ask if his CD has plans to build the Woody pictured.

Look at his feedback and click on the auctions that have ended. There are a few other pics that have probably been lifted.

I linked there pics from his auctions, He seems to like the black one because it is in more listings than the others. This guy is doing a lot of buisness. I quit looking after 6 pages of feedback and it only went back to the middle of Jan.

The guy's name is Daniel Cary, and he's a real winner - a sheister in the nth degree - I fought with him quite a while back ... NOT a teardropper in ANY sense of the word! His CD/DVD is a total ripoff of someone else's hard work, and all he is doing is burning copies, calling them his, and selling them for less just to make the buck and take advantage of unknowing and unsuspecting teardrop enthusiasts and wouldbe-teardrop enthusiasts. At the very leaset, the guy's auctions should be pulled from Ebay and he should be banned, but he'd just re-register with another identity and start all over again ... this is the second time he's changed his ID (that I know of) already ...

That photo of the '50 Chevy PU & KIT is MINE and it IS copyrited, and now I'm pissed off all over again! I'll be contacting Ebay tomorrow ... O.K., later today!

is there a way we can imbed a copyright notice right in the photos? Something that can't be cropped out? Hmmmmm...

Thanks for all the info, guys. I was seriously TICKED after seeing it last night. Especially since where I found it had nothing to do with teardrops in any way, shape or form. Ebay is getting a letter from me this morning.

Ross

PS: Mike, we could paste a coyright on a diagonal across each and every one. What a pain.

You could paste a tranparent water mark like this;
Image
It will ward off most thiefs or at least make them have to do at least a little work, doctoring each and every photo to erase the waterwark.

Its amazing what some people will do for a buck,, in a way its a real compliment to have a picture of your tear used for some reason or another but hell at least ask,,

its a shame some people just dont want to put in the time or effort to make their own design and just scab off of others hard work,,

go get em Ross,,

Okay Dean,

Give me a quick and dirty lesson on how to apply that water mark. Can it be done in paint? Everyone here has paint.

If not, how about Paint Shop Pro?

Grant is right. Daniel Carey living in New York has pirated most of the pics from my web site with building comments on his CD and I have since watermarked my photos. He even had the guts to put my email on the CD to address questions and I have been getting plenty. eBay has told me that he's in violation of several of their rules but this idiot is still there. I checked the other day and he had 49 simultaneous auctions and several of them were of the same CD just with different titles. Seems like most people that are planing on building a teardrop visit our sites before buying plans. I put a large blinking warning on my start page and if enough of us did that it might throw a wrench into his sales.

That's pretty good Denny! Could you make a generic version of that, which we can all post on our individual web pages?

It's there free for the taking and hope anyone that agree's will copy and paste any or part of it on their pages. The joker lives in New York and he thinks that if it's on the web it is free for the taking but I don't think he's ever read the copyright laws. I have posted the source code for the complete table on my site for anyone wanting it.
