Warm weather = Chubby Progress

Postby Geron » Thu Feb 17, 2005 12:52 pm

Well, More warm weather and the least bit of progress. (see album)

Got walls and bottom bulkhead squared and glued.

I've found some 1/8 in bendable Birch plywood for $25 dollars a sheet (local pickup) That sound reasonable???? I'd use in for the inside skins. I plan to use 3/16 hardboard (1/8 if I can find it at HD) for the top underlayment.

How would cabinets in Red Oak go with the Birch Plywood??? Maybe Red oak framing and birch doors. Easy way would be to cut the frames from birch plywood.

OK, OK, Just ramblin' - but, at my age that's expected.

Geron,

Looks good. Anything that apeals to YOUR eye will look good. I prefer to stick with one species (ie. all birch or all red oak), but that's just my opinion. :?

looking good! I had two places in my area to buy 1/8" birch: one was just over $25 and one was just under per 4x8 sheet - so it looks like you made out just fine
