If you were going to add the 2 extra feet anyway, what about doing a dinette setup like this (only shorter) and pushing the bed back the extra 2 feet?

I'm so glad this thread came back to life. Got me thinking of my next build. Something just a wee bit bigger than my 4x8 but not quite a standy. I guess it would be called a slouchy.



Inside would be simple, a bed (with table folded down could be a double bed. a fold down table, room at the foot of the bed for a porto-potty, and cabinet space next to table, and at the rear.



The counter folds in half, and into the galley area. It wouldn't fold flat, but would attach to the upper shelf. This would allow storage without having to move everything.

I am keeping it very minimalist to save on weight. Overall dimensions are 5x10x5.

OK..Sorry about my last post...my computer didn't load page 2 or something, so the last post I saw was about the LoLiner. If anyone needs the measurements, I will run down the street and ask the owners if I can measure stuff.

Meanwhile...back to building canned hams!!! I love them!!! Make a bread box style and call it the Spam can!! Ok...I'll shut up now...

Nothing wrong with the design. Just needs a curtain in front of that porta potti. Heaven forbid the door gets yanked open at the wrong time.

I am starting on my 6'-4"x11'-10" frame, now. (old tent camper frame) Dropping the front half of the floor 4" now. Havn't totally decided on heigth and profile. (really like the "riverside retro 13" made in Lagrange, In.) My 4x8 cubby is fine, just a little "tight" for the wife & I. Wanting a FULL bed, crosswise in the rear and mostly empty for the rest. Want room to sit in bag chairs and read or play cards if weather forces us too. May not stand up, but a slouchie. Not sure if I really want it garageable. I don't want to cook inside unless forced to. And no inside porta poti. IF I take one, it'll be stored in a cabinet and used outside in the "changing/shower tent. I know, alot of indecision. But I figure once the floor is on and I put a mock wall & roof on, the wife will make up her mind for heigth.
