Teadropping in St Lucia

Postby campadk » Tue Mar 15, 2005 10:20 am

Well Kate and I are off on our yearly trip to the Carribean. This time back to St Lucia on Saturday!

We'll be working on our tan in preparation for some serious teardropping this summer!

Dave,

You mentioned something about getting a boat. If that's it on the ocean in the background, the Ottawa economy must be booming.

Hope you have a very enjoyable trip.

Dave,

I still want to know what you do for a living. Can I do that too? ;)

Mike...

Dave, you gotta get you a tower for that thing. Best money you'll ever spend on the boat. :) I bought one from Barewest and built the bimini myself. I used a conduit bender and primed/painted it myself. Keeps you out of the sun, and the tower lets you have the most fun you'll have while standing up. Also you'll have a cool place to hang your gear and speaker tubes.

My boat, and that's Lisa up front. It's a 16 footer.

It's true, I read an article in some boating magazine that said that a tower helps in resale too. It was listed as the best modification and having the most bang for the buck.

Steve,

We did order the boat with full bimini top and all around canvas. We'll only be doing casual water skiing (ie a few times). Aren't those towers mainly for wakeboarding and advanced water skiing? The boat comes with a ski pole which should suffice. We're not exactly young pups... gotta keep those bones intact you know!

Yup, the tower is mostly for 'hang time' while wakeboarding/kneeboarding. You'll do just fine with the tow bar if you're into waterskiing.
