Bought from Wrisco. Great people to deal with here in Atlanta.

4 sheets 4x10x.040 for 189.18
Comes out to 47.30 per sheet including tax.

Probably could have done better but I'm satisfied

Now I have to find the time to get to work :)

Expecting windows any day now.

I was looking for a source and the only one I had found was going to cost me $80 a sheet. Nice to find someone else to deal with.

Check their website. They have a division in Dallas, TX. Noticed you're from TX but don't know you close to Dallas.

4x10x.032 was about $40 per sheet IIRC.

The folks in the Big A couldn't do enough to help even with just a piddlin' order.

That's a great price, last time i was down visiting my son, I was quoted closer to $70 per sheet in Denver. Prices here (South Dakota) are higher yet.

There is a truck repair shop in town that can get me 104 inch wide aluminum by the foot for a decent price, but it looks like it might be soft, and scratch real easily. Can anyone comment on the difference between sheet stock and the stuff truck shops use that comes off the roll? Sorry, but I don't know what the numbers for either are, I just know that osme aluminum is harder, and doesn't scratch as easily.

Just received my invoice from Wrisco with this information enclosed:

Price Increase!!

"During the last 30 days, the Midwest aluminum base metal ingot price has increased substantially. etc. etc. etc.

As a result, in order for Wrisco to maintain its present level of service and product offerings, effective Monday April 4, 2005 all aluminium prices will be increased . . . yada, yada, yada.

Just a heads up!! :(
Who woulda guessed??

I think all metal prices are headed up. When I widened my trailer, used 2x2x1/4" angle x 12 feet long... was about $70.00... My bro said that was about double of a couple of years ago....

With energy prices zooming up, don't expect any prices will decrease.

These people are raising prices so fast and so often that they've totally run out of creative excuses to explain why they're going up. They now just say: "Prices are going up." And you know what? They beat me. I don't even ask anymore.
I am NOT a complete idiot! Some of the pieces are missing.

I suspect it is a combo of supply/demand and energy. Takes a lof of electricity to produce aluminum, and fuel to deliver it.

Yesterday, when I went to Lowes, I bought an a/c unit, a packet of lock washers, a packet of flat washers and some loose bolts. Everything was made in China. I suspect a lot of metal being produced here is heading to Asia...... that strong demand will jack up our prices.

I went to the Dallas division of Wrisco today and bought four sheets @ $165.88 including tax. I figured I better get it now before the price increase hits.
Thanks for the source and the heads up on the anticipated price increase!
Might have saved me a hundred or two!

You must have included some 4x8 sheets in that order or bought .032. My four 4x10x.040 were around $187. Now I just gotta get my "mini winne" off the jacks and get the skin on. - Someday :NC
