Looks awesome Kai!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:
Hey, what type and what size of drawer slides did you go with for the Flamineta slide out?
I'm not too up to snuff on the latest stuff out there when it comes to drawer slides... But I noticed last night, that with a 22" single drawer slide, the Flamineta didn't quite come out as far as I wanted. I'd like to get about 24"ers, but I hit the wall that is the backside of my propane tank compartment.
(I'm hoping I'll be able to find double travel slides)
One more question...
I'd like to find a self coiling gas hose to go between the stove and that backside wall of the propane tank compartment. My neighbor told me to go ahead and just use one of those colored air hoses that are made that way... I'm not too giglish about that idea, those are made for air not gas.
What did you use to get your travel for the slide out in terms of a gas line?

Dean
The gas hose that I used is just a braided hose that is made for gas. They use them all over here. I have not seen them in the states. Of you want. I can pick you up one. It does not coil, however it is twisted sot that it pulls out. I will take a photo tomorrow for you. this is a pic of it.

Thanks for the nice words

Kai,

What a great Teardrop! I've got to get mine done so I can see yours in Minden.

Kai,
I see... It just coils loosley on the floor.
Hey what is your counter height?
I wanted to put my cutting board there , but moved it over to the other side of the galley, above the ice box. It looks like my counter height is going to be about 38" above the ground...
(I've got a bit of "slack" space built in to the plans for all those slide outs, maybe too much space)

Kai the battery and gas together

Postby Guy » Tue Apr 19, 2005 11:24 pm

Dear Kai,

I am concerned about the propane and the battery sitting that clost together. A spark, regarless of venting can be all it takes. If you put the battery in a separate box, separately vented you overcome the danger.
Regards,

Guy

¡WOW! Estoy muy impresionado. Me Gusta mucho.

I like the tambour also. I think what I like the most about your entire project is that it hondestly looks like you've done a superb job restoring a good old find. That's the look that I've been going for with my project. People would not believe that you built this from new.
I am NOT a complete idiot! Some of the pieces are missing.

Guy:
The battery that is in there is just temp. There is plans for a sealed box for the battery and I am using an Optima battery. (it is in Texas waiting for me at my mail box)

Thanks for the concern

Dean:
Counter heigth can not be determined until I get a new axle. The axle that I have is the one I bought when I was going to us the TD off-road. The axle is 20 deg up, I will change it to 20 deg down. Right now my wife has to use a step to get to the large center drawer. I think she will be glad when I get ti lowered.

Kai,
Did you end up going with a Flexiride?... Because the swing arms are positionable. You can set whatever angle you need. Just have a good pair of glasses to count how many splines you move it, so the other side gets moved the same amount.

I have not bought the axle yet. The money is slim right now, we are going on vacation from the 11th of May until after Minden. Hope to camp most of the way to Maine and then back to Minden.

I like the idea of the flexride. That way I can get the heigt just right.

I will have one to raffle off at Minden. It is kind of up in the air right now, however George T. is checking to make sure it is OK.

Yes if you want one I can get one mail it from Brownsville TX next month.

Let me know if you want one and then send the money to my paypal account. PM me or e-mail me at [email protected]. I can bring one more with me. I think the customs guys would get upset if I bring more than 2 each trip

Thanks for the complements. I deffinatly am not a carpenter, each day it gets a little better though.

When I get the fenders mounted in the next day or two, it will be time to start shining and get ready for vacation.
