Teardrop Field Test

Postby tdhombre » Sat Jun 26, 2004 11:07 am

Like Joseph, I took the maiden voyage with my new teardrop this week. Unlike Joseph, my trip was limited in milage (approx. 250 mi round trip) but I ventured off the road the last 5 miles of which were rugged coastal mountain dirt roads.

I am pleased to report that the interior and galley are fully DUST proof and WATER proof (I had to wash both teardrop and truck on my return.)

The trek into the remote, primitive camping site was a challenge, but the resulting view was spectacular. This is one of the pictures taken at about 5:00 PM looking directly West from the site. WOW!

All in all, a singular adventure that I will NOT take my wife on. It was FAR too difficult and remote (but WOW!)

WOW indeed. The views are sometimes hard to get to, but well worth it. Glad to hear that you were water and dust free.

Great location Dave! Perfect for that first trip out. What was the difficult part?

Are you bringing your wife on your next trek?

Cheers

Hey there, Dave!

Beautiful shot! Care to tell me how to get there next time I'm down that way? Our views of the coast, lately, have been limited to what we can see from closer-to-sea-level variety available to most passersby on or near the highway. You folks who live in the area always know where the best spots are ... ;-} ;-}

Gotta tell you that it was a real pleasure to meet you Monday and check out that little jewel of yours. Hopefully we'll run into each other again (I'll share the photos I took on MY trip!), and I know you'll be enjoying many more camping adventures in that beautiful little teardrop.

Happy camping, and in the meantime ...

CHEERS!
