Randy,

I have not seen that before, but I think you probably could get one or one very similar to it from an RV graveyard or similar place. It looks like ones that I have seen in some popup trailers before.

Good Luck and Happy hunting!

These show up on Craiglist.org from time to time. Also good source for campers, trailers etc.

Yea, I've seen that before... hold on, let me run outside and look up the name...

Ah yes, the manufacturer is SMEV. Definitely European. You will probably have to import it. I think I posted on this subject before. Try a search on Smev.

Mike...

P.S. This is what I found.

Do you know anyone in England? How about Andrew?

Thanks for the link. Still designing though, and not sure what I want to do.

Don't bother going to this link--it's the same full circle and no additional info.

I just e-mailed them, and I told them what a HUGE population of TD builders visit this site, from all around the WORLD, who may want to buy their product(s).

I even told them all about Mike, so I hope that helps!!!

You never know--they may now ship internationally. I mean, it's England--not Iran. But have you ever seen a TD in Iran ANYWAY? So the HELL with Iran!

What's cool about these units also are the configurations, though they don't give the depths. One is really long but narrow, making for what looks like pretty good use of counter real estate.

If they don't ship to the U.S..........

Oh, Andrew...

Did I ever tell you how HANDSOME you look in that red tie!?

This is a tough one here, because I still love that Flamineta oven combo.

You're right--they haven't replied yet. I shouldn't have mentioned you.

They're 5 hours ahead, so maybe Monday.

I did the currency conversions, and they're not cheap--but we have to remember that we're getting two items instead of one. I would think another $40, $50 for shipping--but do Brits pay VAT?

If so, here's the problem--Americans DON'T have to pay VAT, so it's not like a European can get it for you without paying that stupid tax first. There's a long procedure where you can actually fill out something and get that money BACK somehow, but who's gonna bother?

They can sell direct to you without VAT, if they know how to do this - nowadays the only VAT-free sales are to countries outside the European Union and it's quite likely they've never sold there! VAT is 17.5% so it's worth saving.

If I bought it on your behalf, I'd have to pay VAT and there's no way to get that back. VAT refunds are to a person leaving Europe, and I'm not!

You need to add on any import duty that would be charged by US customs.

$40-50 might be a bit light for shipment, as our costs always seem higher than yours - UPS eastbound across the Atlantic is cheaper than UPS westbound!

I'm not sure if there could be a problem with the gas supply, such as burners set up for butane, not propane.

Butane? So all I have to do is hook up my cigarette lighter.

Thanks for the info. No wonder you guys are so reluctant to adopt the euro.

IraRat, have you tried "parts and accessories" on Ebay?
Or ... um ... salvage yards? If it's out of a Westphalia or something similar it should be available one of those places if not both.
