You are so right Irarat. They are either rock hard or way too soft and have bugs flying around them. Someone in the restaurant business actually told me there is a monopoly on avacadoe distrbution. Very "conspiracy theory" the way he told me. Kind of like an avacodo mafia.

That last post was entirely untrue.

There is no avacado mafia (Ow!) There never has been an avacado mafia and there never will be an avacado mafia.

(There, I said it. Will you kindly quit pointing your gun at me and leave me alone now?)

Insert big silly grin here.

1 rock-hard avocado on Friday plus one lunch-size brown paper sack plus one sunny countertop equals really good guacamole for Saturday night.

Throw an apple in that bag and it'll speed up the process

Up here in the Pacific NW it seems like you can never buy a peach that is ripe. Don't know if it's because we grow them around here and they pick them early to ripen when trucked a long distance, or what.
I've used ripe bananas to speed up the ripening process, but any thing that puts out ethylene (I think) gas will work.

It's really nice right now, here (70 or so), but is supposed go up to about 95 today with very high humidity. That's getting pretty uncomfortable for this area of the world.

I have to go to buy a power miter saw today (darn the luck) and maybe mow the lawn, if I can get back early enough, before the heat sets in. Or just

I won't be mowing today. It's raining hard right now. I just mowed the other day, so I won't need to mow for a few more days. Except the rain will probably cause the grass to grow so I'll probably have to mow a little sooner.

I hope this rain stops soon. I have a cruise-in this evening. www.eastcoopercruisein.com It's not looking too good, though. Chance of rain for this evening went up from 40% to 60%.

Anyone else getting any rain? Hope Chris doesn't run into any rain...

I haven't mowed in at least 2 weeks either, mostly because I HATE mowing grass. It's always nice when the rain slows down at the end of June and my weeds quit growing. Then I can usually get away with once a month until Sept.
For fun on the other hand I built a railroad tie wall in my back yard in this 90dg heat, oh what fun!!

I lived in LA for 8 and 1/2 years (82-91) and still can not see how anyone can eat those green turnips, especially after it has been turned into mush!!!!

On another note: I just got a new 12" compound miter saw today from the HF store. Have not even opened the box yet, but will put it to work tomorrow. I am putting new baseboard in my attic that I converted to a master bedroom (9 x 40 approx).

Kerry

P.S. I hope Chris is having a great time in Minden!
