The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Doesn't look too bad, but what do looks tell you? Also very reasonable.

Maybe the guy built it and decided he wanted something bigger? But what's that ax and shovel for???

Maybe he's a mass murderer, and we should stay away.

Hey, take a look at how the double doors are held closed - I've already developed a nasty bruise on the side of my arm and that's just from looking at the photo.....

What...You think the axe is so he can chop you up and the shovel is so he can bury you?...
I'd say the guy is or was a truck driver... All logging trucks, maybe other trucks too are required to have a shovel and axe to assist with fighting forest fires if needed. (At least in my locale)
Many of them really put a lot of effort into making them into show pieces, having them chromed and what not...

Well, I'm no firefighter--but a fire extinguisher would have been a good idea too.

Okay--you all lost me with this. But I have an eBay question anyway:

I'm fairly new to eBay...only having started to buy stuff off there and squandering my son's college education since I started building this TD, but...

I had a bid going all week on a 2-foot wide, 30-pount teak crab for my roof or tongue box. I had my initial bid in as the high bidder all week, right up until Saturday afternoon--with the auction ending (for example) 5 hours later. And I'm still the high bidder at this point. My max bid is still $20 more.

So I log on to check 30 minutes before the auction is SUPPOSED to end, and I see the auction has already ended. Crab sold to another bidder. For a buck more than my max bid.

I know I did the math right as to when the auction was supposed to end. I wrote all of the info down for this auction and 2 others on Friday, before leaving work.

Are there shenanigans going on on eBay that I should be aware of?

As most of you know, I'm the sensitive, spiritual type--and all of this drama and intrigue is really unnerving me.

Ira,
Did the auction have a "Buy It Now" option?
Tupelosue clued me into something called "sniping."
(That's where you outbid someone in the last couple of seconds of the auction)
All I can say about Ebay, is good luck and if you want peace of mind... I'd look elsewhere for your stuff...

No "Buy It Now," option, Dean--that much I understand. It was a one-of-a-kind with no Buy It Now.

And I even understand the sniping, as you refer to it--that you have to be online at the last minute to win it. That's what an auction is all about.

But I know that I noted the auction end time, wrote down a half hour earlier than that, and logged on a half hour earlier then THAT. But at that time it listed it as auction ended.

I filed a complaint/request for confirmation/other BS thing through Ebay--so we'll see what this is all about.

Ebay is really cool for a lot of things, and I think I'm gonna get an Ebay for Dummies book or something similar to learn more about it.

Maybe it was a time zone thing?
Well, Good Luck with your Ebay endevours...
I might try it again sometime in the future, but have no desire to compete in that madness as of right now, that's for sure...
I sent that fake set of bagpipes that I paid 180.00 for along with Kevin, on his trip to Minden.
I asked him to give them to Gage, thinking he might like them as a decoration to go along with his Scottsman theme...
