8) Mid-August
Hot summer days and warm nights in most of the other regions....but not here! Escape to the NW if you are ready for some cool camping.
I'm doing fine (all things considered) and hope all of you are too. Still plenty of days and nights left to Teardrop.

We just got home a couple of hours ago from a 2731 kms recon mission for the up coming "Fall Crawl"
Eight days & nights of beautiful weather with the most wonderful moon every night!
Left Yakima yesterday .....98 degrees! :applause:
So nice over here on the "Dry Side" of the mountains!
Home for two weeks before we leave, on what will be the most wonderful Teardrop Adventure to date  ...... Fall Crawl 2016!
Sandi an I have reserved the campsites and driven the entire first two weeks of the route over the past eight days  ......if you have never been to this part of the country you should try to make this event. ;) There is some breath taking scenery and some wonderful roads to travel.
Come on North! :applause: :applause:

Hi Loren
Be Patient......we just got home! ;)
My plan was to have an final Itinerary out by the 23rd, but I still need to make about 4 or 5 calls back to Campground owners to finalize the prices and reservations we had made along the way.
And am still awaiting the starting location for the Group starting on the East side?????
Hope to know all this tomorrow!
It was a much more daunting task then last years Crawl!
But, can not express how wonderful this route is, how beautiful the scenery is, and how nice the roads are.
Plus, we have found a great selection (variety) of Campgrounds, that we hope everyone will enjoy!
You will hear from me via e-mail very soon.

PS
We drove 1250 miles to get from our place to Yakima.
Did a lot of doubling back and explored a bunch of possible sites that not everyone will visit on the Crawl, plus the optional loop thru Lake Louise and Banff arriving at Radium down Hwy 93 through Kootenay National Park.
Greg will be envious when he hears we drove through 5 National Parks in a 24 hour period last week.

We are planning to attend the October 18-19 gathering at Lake Chelan. Searching for half way point state park to camp a couple days as I don't look forward to marathon driving more than 2-3 hours between stops. Ryderwood to Lake Chelan is a 5 hour drive. Besides we love camping more since I built the Teardrop.
Wife always hated the "get ready and pack" to go camping routine. Now just pack food and go.

What is the TOW website? seeing how the NW tear droppers are not doing anything on the west coast.
Would like to meet other members that have built the DIY trailer.

Okay!
We have to get you caught up......and bring you up to speed.
Yes, Bill and Sue camped out at Lake Chelan State Park in October a few years back.
We joined them there in 2014.
The next year (2015) we met in Wenatchee (as it was closer for those who did plan to attend) and called it the "Last Gasp Campout" sponsored by the Tear Jerkers PNW Chapter.
Last Year (2016) it was held in Cle Elum (once again closer to those that planned to attend, but getting further and further away for us :( )
The "Last Gasp Campout" is once again in our plans for this camping season, scheduled for the last weekend in October.....but no firm location has been set to date.
Now, TOW............is another active Teardrop Organization here in the PNW (which we are also members of) that puts out a quarterly newsletter and sponsors numerous events throughout the year.
When your Teardrop is finished, both of these groups are excellent choices to belong to if you want to meet other like minded campers and be kept in the loop!
both are FREE :applause:

So much happening!
Those registered for Shadows Over Shaniko should be on the roads by morning if they'd not head out Thursday.
Hope the traffic along Hwy. 97 and every other Hwy. heading into the path of the Eclipse is not snarled and you guys have a safe and wonderful adventure.
Those of us that are going on the Tear Jerkers 3rd annual Fall Crawl will be on the road in less than two weeks now. Our group will be made up of TJ Members coming in from Wa. Id. Or. Ca. Mt. Az. B.C. and there is word we might be joined by someone from Alberta?? :applause:
This may be our best Crawl ever, and it is not to late to register.....just PM or email me if you wish to join in this years Fun! :wine:

Did you know Vedette (Brian Woods) passed away last fall? He is sorely missed. I hope he is enjoying his new 'campground' in heaven.
