Tumblers - Yeti vs Orca vs Ozark Trail

Postby justageorgiaguy » Wed Jul 13, 2016 10:04 pm

Interesting video comparing the three. https://www.facebook.com/aldotcom/video ... 644927483/

If you don't want to watch, the $10 Ozark from Walmart won!

Pretty impressive. I'd like to know what ambient temperature was during the test. 56 hours is a long time to hold ice.

"The ice-retention challenge was simple. I packed the tumblers with crushed ice to the point of having to firmly press down on the lids. Then I placed them on a table and waited for the ice to melt completely.

I used crushed ice. No liquid of any kind was added to the tumblers. They were placed on a table in a room with a temperature of 73 degrees."

Funny, they all look like they’re made in the same factory in China ... The High prices are for the ”suckers" .... ( see... P.T.Barnum )

Thank you, I think?! - it was kind of an impulse purchase, I'm now in possession of a couple sizes of Ozark Trail tumblers.
  :D :relaxing: :picklejuice: :icedtea:

My Uncle has the Ozark trail 32 ounce, he works construction, 90-100 degrees here lately. He says he can pack it full of ice in the morning and just keep adding drink to it all day, and he'll have ice left at the end of the day, and he works 10+ hours a day usually. I've been wanting to get one myself, but they are always sold out around here too.

 I had no inclination that I needed a tumbler before this thread. Now I must force myself to get to WM. And for me to set foot in that store, well that is an accomplishment. Maybe I can convince my wife to go for me.

Now there will be a “run” on them , sold out quickly , and the next batch from China in will likely be made cheaper, not work as well , and be even more expensive .... You know how Wal Mart is .. (and not only them )
JGG, more than you could imagine ... :frightened:

I sent my wife on the hunt at WM tomorrow for two of them. I want to see of they will keep my beer cold with no ice. This will be a fun experiment.

This discussion is great. About two weeks ago I picked up two OT for the TD. On my first camping trip I added a handful of ice for about five minutes then put the ice back in the cooler and poured a cerveza. It stayed nice and cool for quite a while! After having the tumblers tumbing around the galley I decided they did such a great job keeping my refreshment cool they deserved a dedicated home. By the way, the Iron Mountain, MI Wally has tons of these in stock.

If you need a tumbler that keeps your drink cold for days, YOU ARE DRINKING TOO SLOW!

Well now I have the Ozark Trail one and my wife opted for the smaller 20 oz one. At the TJ event at Fort Chiswell, I,will put it to test....or maybe for my soft drink while traveling to it.
