I’ve been here since 2005. I’m on my second teardrop.

I registered July 1, 2009 so I've just hit 10 years here. I'm on my 5th (or so) trailer (or so). The first was a casket on wheels, since I only wanted sleeping space for cross country drives. I discovered they don't expect a corpse to move much At All, so I sold that one. I've just bought this 360# lightweight, billed as a motorcycle trailer. Light enough that I can still push it into the garage, by hand.

maybe you knew other member too.

It was saddening to hear of their passing, Gage had been in poor health and Doug was sudden and unexpected. Camped with them both and considered them friends. They were great people.

May 2004

My teardrop is long gone and I moved on to the 1960 Kenskill standie in my avatar.
After 15 years I have passed that on to my nephew. Loved it but over time it became too much work to move around in my
limited space.
I have no real plans for something else but the https://www.clcboats.com/teardrop from Chesapeake Light Boats keeps
appearing in my dreams.

I think this year is my tenth anniversary here. I don't stop by that often anymore. I was just missing the place, out of the blue ...

I'm shocked to see my ten year old photo. I am so skinny now compared to then. I'm going to have to figure out how to change my chubby self to my current self profile picture.

I don't now but it has been a long time.
I built my all wood trailer in 2006. My wife and I slept in it about 30 nights a yea until about 2011 or 12. It was good.
Then she got sick and died in 2014. The tear sat in to much weather to long.
New wife prefers a bit more, so we have a 27 foot trailer with way too many comforts (I don't complain when it is cold and rainy!)
Now I am planning a very unconventional rebuild and then give the teardrop to a daughter.
I check in here once in a while, but it has been a long time side I posted!

Ironic finding this topic. I did a TD build like ten years ago and just happened to pop in after that gap to scrape pics from that build thread.

Been gone about ten years, but back again today because I'm thinking of another build. :)

Regardless, hello to everyone.

I have been on the forum since 2009. I was interested in the teardrop trailers, and considered building one. But at the time I started following the forum, I was camping in both a vintage 1966 Apache Buffalo popup and a 2003 Coleman popup.

My wife really likes the creature comforts. Our Coleman had a built in cassette toilet that we both really appreciated. She also likes and a bit more space than the teardrop allows. She feels that the teardrop would be too confining for her.

Since we were approaching retirement, we settled on a 23 foot travel trailer as our "retirement camper". We have been on many really good trips in it and are looking forward to many more.

I still check in here frequently. Although I have never camped in a teardrop, I enjoy talking with other members in the vintage equipment, camping tips and cast iron sections. I also like seeing where people are finding nice places to camp in the regional sections. It gives us ideas for future trips.

There is a lot here for non-TD people.

Hi everyone,

Joined in 2007. Was very active on the site, and then life happened once more.

I have been looking at some of the new topics recently, but mostly refreshed my memory about some old topics. Thinking about a new build, but still trying to work out the kinks.

This used to be (and I think still is) an amazing forum, with wonderful people. :)

Keep moving forward.

2006 for us.

Still have the Midget trailer we built in 2004. Also the Benroy Woody. It's still for sale. I use it for camping at race tracks when I flag for the SCCA. Pull it with the Mini Cooper.

I check in every once in a while to see what's going on. Looking at retiring soon so we will be doing more camping.
