My Father's Idaho (teardrop related)

Postby JuneBug » Tue Aug 16, 2016 8:24 am

Good morning from Central Texas! It's a lovely rainy morning and amazingly, at 73 degrees, it is 30 degrees cooler than at 3 pm last Friday, when things topped out at 103 degrees with a heat index of 116. But also thinking about our neighbors in southern Louisiana who are suffering from too much rain.

For here, rainy day means more time on the internet and I came across this article from the Moscow, Idaho newspaper:
“My Father’s Idaho” reminisces the Clearwater with pictures set to original music
link to articlehere.
Scroll down to the photo of a pickup truck with a canvas cover and a station wagon with a teardrop trailer.
DH thinks the truck is a 1951-53 Chevy and the station wagon is a Chevy or Dodge of the same vintage. Perhaps one of you can identify the teardrop design.

The link to the photo is here, if anyone can get the image uploaded to a post: http://inland360.com/wp-content/uploads ... 84x350.jpg

Apparently, there are more photos of teardrops, but I'm unable to get the plug in for the slideshow to work on my Chromebook. The slideshow is at

The teardrop in the photo is a Kit.

Thank you, fellow Texan! Maybe Longhorns will play the Aggies again some day!

The wagon is a chevy also. Without seeing the front ends it is hard to hit a year.

The wagon looks like a 1953 judging by the tail lights.
