I need to start planning a front mount (near tongue) AC enclosure box. The AC unit will be a floor level, half in/half out of the camper/ Standard house window AC unit. Thought I saw some that had a front cover lid :NC . If anyone can post information about how the mounted their window AC units, that would be a great help. Thanks to all, When planning things you must think 5 steps ahead, of what you want to do. To limit mistakes, and waste, and of course keeping your sanity. :?

I saw a thread on here somewhere that showed a slick way to do it. They built ventilation boxes off of the back and both sides, and vented them out thru the floor. This is what I am going to do.

I think I'm going to go a step further and add some 12v fans to assist. I'll draw the hot air out of the back, and force fresh outside air up into the side intakes. I will probably need to hack the power circuit of the A/C so that the fans come on automatically when the A/C does.

Maybe I shouldn't have said enclosure  . Maybe I should have said exterior lid. My AC unit will be half inside/half outside when mounted. So what I'm looking for is a hinged lid that will cover the AC unit , when not in use, or towing.

There are several ideas I have seen here for covers what you are talking about. But I do not recall whose post it was.

Hmmmm. Clever. Been trying hard to figure how to do the ac as I want to pull the camper through the snow and will be in snow storms so worried about the ac being half out of the camper in winter use. The enclosure design mentioned above would most likely work well for our use. Majority of our ac use would most likely be if were to travel out of state and to be honest were not real keen on traveling out of state with all that's been going elsewhere. In state we only have maybe a month or so that we would even need an ac.
