Roof mount vent Height ?

Postby rustytoolss » Wed Oct 05, 2016 11:43 am

I'm working with a tight garage door clearance :NC . Can some of you chime in, on how tall your roof mounted vent is, from top of trailer-to of vent.

Just went out and measured mine for you and it is only 4-1/2" high, as long as I remember to close it.

It is the white RV roof vent from Canadian Tire

I laid a straight edge on top and measured 2 1/4" to the roof. It's the old style vent with metal top.

Good call on remembering to close it! :-)

I was trying to figure this same thing out today for a F-Fan, because of the same issue. Considered the usual tire pressure or even the extreme of popping off the brick mold trim etc if I was really close.

I've removed the wheels and tires, to lower my overall height (helps a lot) . I can roll the frame on the spindle hubs. Once out of the garage I'll reinstall the wheels.

On a HF trailer with the round axle you can install the axle over the spring and cut clearance in the mount, to lower the camper .

My trailer has an old pop up frame, which has a torsion axle.
