weekender roof screw up

Postby chamm1963 » Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:57 pm

i hope i`m posting this in the right place

ok i cut the rear of my weekender wrong and was wonder if i should fix it and how to do so
or should i just leave it alone and build around it?? on the plans the roof line is 51 inches long
but somehow i cut it at 55 inches long the angle is still 20 .
the bottom angle is still 45 and the length between the two rear angles is 29 1/2 inches
i think all this did was to give me a taller rear hatch??
any help or info would be would be appreciated
http://www.mikenchell.com/weekender/final.html this is the plans i`m working with
Thanks
Chuck

If I understand what is happening correctly, you will not be able to use the plan info for your hatch. The top is moved back four inches, this means the entire hatch is moved back four inches. Just build the hatch the same way just to the shape/dimentions of the back of your camper.

If the front end is correct, it seems to me that you just need to go back four inches and cut a line parallel to the top rear slope. That should correct the problem.

now that i had time to sleep on it
i think i`m just going to cut it back 4 inches
if i left it alone i would only have a 18 inch wide rear self
oh well at least i did not cut enough off rather then cut to much off ..
thanks
