I like the layout, but that huge flat rear is gonna be awful aerodynamically.

It is like they took a longer trailer and cut it in half. I can see how it would be bad when it comes to aerodynamics. It is like what tractor trailers experience.

It does seem to give space to stand up and do things.

It looks good inside and not too bad outside. I don't know about the aerodynamics but it's worth keeping an eye on this trailer to see what consumers think of it.

I like it, but it still weighs more than I would be comfortable pulling with my bug. Maybe as a foamie?

Somewhat reminiscent of the Cabin A by A-Liner a few years ago. The Cabin A was a little larger & had 'sharper' angles. It had the flat back & a rear entry door, & a fiberglass skin, but not molded. Layout inside was similar to that shown of the Ascape but reversed side to side. The one I used was very well appointed & towed easily with my V-6 Toyota Tacoma, not much difference than towing our Casita 17SD. I've heard/read various construction complaints about the A-Liner but little or no complaints of the Cabin A. If fuel consumption is of prime importance, the flat back on the Ascape will probably reduce fuel mileage a little??
