Galley hatch flex

Postby jonb8 » Sun Dec 18, 2016 6:53 pm

I built my hatch out of 3/4 birch stringers, blocked it and skinned it with 5mm ply. (all glued and screwed on framing and the skin is glued and stapled) My hatch still twists a little is that normal?

I get some flex as well. probably an inch if I pull on one side or the other opposed to pulling down from the middle.

Feeling good is a good thing. If it's too much flex, you could cover the interior with a layer of 1/8" and I'd think it'd really tighten it up.
