Cuthbert J Twillie wrote:Hey Femike,
Tear Drop Shop has an extremely draconian return policy:
We do not accept returns on tents or shelters that have been used or open unless there is a manufacturer defect.
Please be sure you are selecting the correct color, model and package.
Give us a call if you have any questions on what type of tent you will need at (844)834-5701.

There is also an implication that the designs are made to fit specifically on "Little Guy Trailers", I'm assuming this is a brand name, do I have that wrong?
So my impression (based on Tear Drop Shop's return policy) is that you can't try it out and see if it fits and be able to return it if it doesn't.
It seems like if it doesn't fit and you've found this out by taking it out of the box, you're screwed.

================================================

I agree that the return policy is stiff, but I also understand the life of a small business owner - use the item then send it back.

Given that, I bought my big (10x10) Pahaque as a used item via the Little Guy forum. Now that I see the great quality, I bought the 5x7 through the Teardrop Shop (but through Amazon because I get better cash back on my c-card).

Here's an inexpensive option... Fits over my 5x8 with plenty of space to cook, a couple chairs to sit in, get in and out of both cabin doors. As far as a cat, you'd have to do some extra anchoring along the edges. No floor. Was about $150 on sale last spring. Since these photos were taken I've adapted it to fit over the tongue of the TD.
It's a Cabela's http://www.cabelas.com/product/EAGLES-CAMP-X-SCREENHOUSE/1947501.uts

It says sold out, but, if it looks interesting you could call and see if they'll be stocking again.

So Far, we've just used it as a side tent. We do have all of the side panels and the front panel accessories now. It makes such a nice awning/seating area that we end up setting it somewhere that we can use the awning and have a view at the camp site. It would definitely make a great Galley hatch tent. Especially with the RV attachment added to it. I can't say enough good things about set-up and take-down. It's absolutely the easiest tent we've ever had as far as that goes. They are proud of them as the price indicates, but they seem to be first quality.

Yes, do the Google search. And try to attend one of the many TearJerkers events. There are always a lot of great options to consider and everyone it seems to love and talk about theirs.

I have an Oztent knockoff, about RV-3 size. It's sooo long that's it's impractical to carry inside most vehicles & I'm so short that it's dangerous for me to try putting it onto or getting it off of the roof. We used it for tent camping several time but having taken it along with the camper. The Oztents really are easy to set up, just like they show in the videos.

Yeah, I know what you mean! I can get ours crossways in the Teardrop. Since I've got the truck now, that's the only thing we have to carry in the trailer. It's even too long for my short bed!

My TV will be a jeep so storage space is really limited. I am in the process of building my teardrop now. I am putting a 12 inch storage area under the mattress (Like the Crowswing build). I am going to leave an access area in the bulk head on the floor. That way I can slide the tent in from the rear the length of the trailer.

We use a 10x10 EZ-up now for shelter right outside our door. I've been looking into this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B9HZD7S/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2GRRM7E1TGU7H&coliid=I3LGW27HTJ5HJU&psc=1
for a complete screen room. I'm getting ready to order one as a matter of fact.

If you are looking for an RV awning cover that is easy to install and maintain, then Vacation'r Screen Room is for you! As far as I know, the assembly is quite simple and, above all, you do not have to completely disassemble the product when it is folded up. The awning panel zips stay in place even when tucked in, meaning later setup is quicker and more convenient, but opening and closing feel a bit clunky. What I like most about this screen room is that it includes control panels that you can easily connect to for privacy and to keep the rain out.

Brennen, I don't especially object to your very first post being an advertisement for a product, since it's related to tear drop camping. (Though some might consider that a little rude.) But, frankly, it would work a lot better if you took the time and posted a picture of the product.

So, are you coming back? Or was this a drive by SPAM?

The Dometic Veranda Room is a good deal. You can order the 4-foot starter kit and then order additional panels to expand it to the size of your RV. Surprisingly, despite being the cheapest option, it's a lot easier to set up and take down than the other rooms mentioned above. Its fabric shade is quite tough and fire resistant. It's also water-repellent and dries quickly, So this model comes in handy when you need to pack just after the rain.
You must also know what you desire – do you want privacy or value clean, unobstructed views?
There are many other options you can check: https://www.riversidetrailer.com/best-rv-screen-rooms/

We are now using Clams, A Pagoda the largest with attached panels for rain etc and a Clam Venture smaller and easier to put up.
