Screen rooms

Postby Cuthbert J Twillie » Wed Feb 08, 2017 11:24 am

I'm looking for a screen room/tent that will butt up to one side of my T.T. (the Woodbutcher's Club Car).
I want something that constitutes a complete room with four walls because I want the screen room to function as an effective "cat pen."
But I also want some type of opening to the trailer in the wall that butts up to the camper.
My cat enjoys camping.
Can anyone help me with this?

If it's to serve as a cat room you'll need a built in floor as well as "front" and "rear" doors. Haven't seen anything that fits the bill but would be interested in ones that might.

I appreciate the replies.

It seems that to employ all the tents, featured in the hyperlinks, you need a roof rack.
My camper doesn't have a roof rack.

Regardless thanks for the replies.

Why not use one of the Pahaques that are made for Little Guys?

Hey Femike,
Tear Drop Shop has an extremely draconian return policy:
We do not accept returns on tents or shelters that have been used or open unless there is a manufacturer defect.
Please be sure you are selecting the correct color, model and package.
Give us a call if you have any questions on what type of tent you will need at (844)834-5701.

There is also an implication that the designs are made to fit specifically on "Little Guy Trailers", I'm assuming this is a brand name, do I have that wrong?
So my impression (based on Tear Drop Shop's return policy) is that you can't try it out and see if it fits and be able to return it if it doesn't.
It seems like if it doesn't fit and you've found this out by taking it out of the box, you're screwed.

The only way I can think about camping with a cat is to have a completely sealed enclosurer. Any gap will be exploited by a catto get out. This means a tent with a floor and a zzippered door. It will have to be sealed to the camper door with a detachable frame around the door. My thought is to find a flat back boxed shaped tent and cut the back to fit a frame that attaches to the camper. DIY.

You may want to check out the Camp Inn side tent. The front can be "screen only, but the sides are only partially screened. It has an opening for the door, a floor, and straps to hold the interior tent wall snug to the teardrop side wall. Here's a link: http://tinycamper.com/tent.htm.

We use ours for the porta-potty and as a changing room. It is a little cumbersome to put up but performs very well.

C, we camp with 2 dogs and a cat...yes we are nuts. Bought a
Coleman instant double hub tent from Walmart on sale. I cut
through the back window so we could climb through to the
trailer. Sewed waterproof fabric to lengthen the window rain flies.
Pull it taut over the top...and hook underneath. It's worked pretty
good. Just got back from Florida...Eileen

I had Pahaque make a screen room/tarp 6' wide at the tear opening to 14' wide X 14' long.

My suggestion is PRICEY, but would offer a full enclosure with floor. We have a OZTent we use for a "Potty house", changing room, and covered porch. They are very easy to set up, can have a fully-screened front enclosure with the optional side panels, and are very easy to orient right next to the teardrop. You can look at them at WWW.oztent.us
