by the time i'm typing this some of the campers are packing up and turning toward THE HOUSE
when i got out of the Jeep yesterday i fully intended to call out a "HALLOW TH' CAMP"(as in John Wayne's movies) as i walked up to a camp but never got the words out before i heard COME IN & WELCOME
WOW WHAT HOSPITALITY!!!
TYLER STATE PARK is only 2hrs & 20min, according to giggle maps, so i decided to visit the gathering
after being waylaid by several GARAGE SALE signs it ended up taking over 3 & nearer to 4hrs to get there, between 12 & 1p
one camper was sweeping his camp so no one would roll an ankle
2 folks were seated under their awning scratching the head of a beautiful white shepard pup
one family was getting stuff ready to feed the kids
one nice lady offered coffee
the scenarios were ALL different but the greeting was ALWAYS the SAME
COME IN & WELCOME
i found what i was looking for...
INOVATION & INGENUITY
as expected accommodations ranged from PURE LUXURY > MODEST AUSTERITY
no one was lacking anything they needed/desired to make the weekend successful
EVERYONE WAS SMILING
several campfires were already doing their job of spreading the aroma of CAMPING throughout the area
after walking both loops and taking lotsa pics CHILI & i loaded up and turned toward the house
some really cool rigs, some super nice folks
CHILI-DOG & I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME
