Well I have messed with a few concepts for a side tent over the last year, but had mainly used our cheap Ozark Trail privacy shower tent pulled up to the side of the wife's side of the trailer at night, but really didn't like having to move it all the time. So decided we needed something that could stay in place but have an exit door.
Seeing how others had adapted privacy tents, we grabbed some ripstop material, cut the pass through and sewed the meterial on the Ozark Trail tent we had. I use suction cups to hold the material tight against the sides to keep mosquitos from getting in. We will probably sew some black out material on the inside so that there is no silhouetting of the inside at night. Works great so far!
