I got some to try out this year. Lyme's is bad enough but after reading about Powassan virus ...

Our TD has gaps around the window screen, I bought some and sprayed the edges. Seems to work, did not stain.

I use this stuff on my clothes and believe it does work.

I've visited a Lyme-specific web site based in Connecticut that recommended only permethrins to kill and repel ticks. You don't put it on your skin, you treat your shoes and clothes with it.

Here's a fact sheet from the Tick Encounter Web site: Permethrin Fact Sheet: Did you know?

You can also download the Fact Sheet as a pdf.

There was a study I saw in (where else) California.
Turns out Nudists don't get bitten as much as people with clothes, they like to be able to hide under something.

Hello,
Thought id add a little to this post that may help others
Peretherin is an effective bug spray as it induces paralysis in the bugs and doesn't allow them near you so is good to spray on cloths and tents and generally spray on the ground your pitching on or parking the teardrop on so that no bugs that may bite are able to enter the area sprayed
Lots of this type of spray are available for sale in your local outdoors stores and supermarkets, but also as a cheaper alternative many cheap fly killer sprays for your home have the same ingredients some in higher concentration than sprays sold specifically for camping.
Spray round your feet and legs before walking in the countryside and under tents and awnings or outside teardrop doors etc when parked up
Cuts down the worry of tick bites
Everything will be alright in the end, if its not then it isn't the end yet.

Actually, unless I'm mistaken... the outcome of the study cited in the OP's original post was completely opposite the assertion of the Science Daily article.

Can you re-post this link? Lancet is not bringing up the article.

It looks like the posting is cutting off the last part of the link. Try cutting and pasting the link in an external browser (below):
