decorative stainless or aluminum sheet material

Postby rustytoolss » Thu Jun 22, 2017 8:48 am

I'm making some wings (like the old Shasta trailers had). I would like to cover them with some type of sheet metal. Something like what Shasta used would be great (it had formed ridges/horizontal lines)embossed or anything that is more than just flat Stainless or Aluminum. It only needs to be thin gauge, and would be glued to my wing material (XPS foam).
Anyone know of something to make a shiny covering for my foam wings ? I could canvas them, and paint them. But I would like for them to look like they were factory made.

Why not aluminum sheet, powder coated and bonded to your wing material?

Same here. I would use very thin sheet metal of an appearance I like -shniy or dull or textured or painted.
Spend an afternoon with tin snips, pliers, and a hammer.

I'm sure that's what I'll end up doing. Thanks ;)
