Here are a couple of youtube videos I found.

This video has a little bit of info but a lot of people commented on their generators. So there is quite a bit of info there

This one goes over features of several generators previously mentioned on this post

I found one made by SmittyBuilt that is quiet and powerful and with electric start with a remote control, that might be handy at night when you don't want to get out and shut it off or start it from within the trailer. I'm sure you could find it on Amazon too.

My vote is for the Honda. Had that exact 2000 model at work and it ran 24/7 for many months with no problems. Nice and quiet too. Lasted many many years.

We need a small generator that will power a 5K btu air conditioner … Most data we find is only for 10K btu and larger ... :NC

A 5k btu unit only needs about 900-1000 watts to start (less if you use a capicitor system). If you don't mind 2 cycle conventional fuel. this is a neat buy.

Dood , Thanks , but we already pushed the button on the HF predator 2000i , so we’ll see where that takes us … We did a lot of reading /research , and that seemed the best bang per buck for the “occasional" user. ( and the “house” was paying for it anyway !!! ;) )

Do those starting super capacitors really work … ? You’re just adding more stored charge eh ?

Yep, to cover the initial requirements of the compressor staring up.
Works in your ac system at home (at least if you have central air)

Yes the start capacitors work great. In my old 5k AC (like really old), it would not even think about starting on the inverter. Added in a hard start and it would fire right up. I removed it from the old AC and will install it in the new one soon.

Don't mean to go off topic, but these super capacitors... Could it work in a 12v system to prevent power drops when a pump initially kicks on? I know you can use large stereo caps to keep your headlights from dimming when you install a monster stereo system (for when the bass kicks in). When my pump kicks in, my lights slightly dim, which his fine. But when I have devices recharging in USB ports, it sometimes resets the USB panel. The USB uses up to 3.1 amps with 2 devices plugged in, and the pump probably 5-7 amps. I'd like to stop this from happening.

The HF 2000 watt Predator inverter generator is on sale, I think for this weekend, at $399

Does anyone know if we can run a synthetic oil in these generators , they only mention 10-30 WT … Reading the manual ( online ) I see where they want you ( me) to change the oil every 8 hours of run time … so we’ll need lots of oil to keep after that eh ? … :o

So, the Predator seems to be popular and at a good price ... although my local HF isn't getting below $499 ....still seems to be good value, and yes, I also saw in the manual that the oil should be changed every 8 hours  that probably wouldn't happen. Does anybody use the predator, could we get some feedback please

You will need to break in your generator with non-syn oil, after it is broken in you can change. Mine has had the same oil for 60 hours, still looks like new. But I am running on propane so that might be the difference.

That definitely seems excessive
