Windows and doors

Postby EnduroFit » Thu Jan 18, 2018 6:07 pm

Hi,

I have a large window and door with these dimensions;

Side door-26"x43"
Big window- 27"x37"

I think I want to have a window/screen added to the door, or just replace it? I have a homemade screen that covers but want to be able to shut completely at times with more ventilation. I'm also thinking of replacing window with slider window/screen. Not really finding anything compatible with the dimensions. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'd consider adding a screened window to your door. It's hard to say what it would entail without knowing the door's construction. But I think it's doable. You'd probably have to add some internal blocking.

If you look at the doors on that site, you'll see that they are close to replacing your non-opening window. I've got a couple of those doors and they provide a great amount of ventilation. And as you've figured out, teardrops like fresh air.

The process went fairly well, except for removing the window from door, to shim and readjust as it wasn't straight. I used it this past weekend but it was a little too cold and dusty(pollen) to keep the window(s) open.

I purchased the door/window combo from teardroptrailerparts, and the window from eBay as I was trying to save some money. Trim ring for the window was not deep enough, so I used aluminum spacers to tie it together. Added the spare tire on top and 2 bike racks for traveling to races, etc. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Now THAT's a big mod.

But quit whining about the pollen. (What's that green stuff in the background?) I plowed snow two weeks ago.

Haha, fair enough with the yellow "snow" down here! we have our usuall NC March bloom, but now snow mix and 2in of the white stuff last week. It doesn't stick much after March 1st. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Thanks, it was a big mod for me, as I didn't build the trailer and am having fun with add-ons

Sorry, haven't been on here lately.

teardroptrailerparts.com and

challengerdoor.com

are two places to look for different sizes, custom, etc
