Retrieving Pictures

Postby zapj » Sun Dec 09, 2018 8:14 pm

I have lost some of my pictures on my personal computer of my build. I have tried to copy or save pictures back to my computer from my hall of Fame posting without success. Does anyone know if this is possible? If it is I must be doing something wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no good method.

Go to the User Control Panel line -- click on the Gallery button on the right side.

Select to view your images.

Click on each image, then right mouse click over the image and select save image.

Free Dropbox is great.

All my photos from cellphone/tablet are loaded to the PC and the cloud when I'm with in home Wifi range. About every 3-13 months (been slacking!) I will back up the pictures to TWO different external hard drives as well as an extra internal drive on the PC.

I lost photos/videos once, I never want it to happen again.

I have started buying USB drives and key chains with the little write-on tags. Have lost stuff before, and will now copy it onto a "thumb" drive, in case the 'puter goes dead again.
Interesting how the PC has yet to turn us into a "paperless" society.

zapj, here is a pic i just stole from bobhenry's DEPOT post

CABOOSE%20BUILD%20625%20005.jpeg
CABOOSE%20BUILD%20625%20005.jpeg (235.31 KiB) Viewed 283 times

simply click n hold on the targeted pic and drag it over onto the desktop

once there drag it into a photo album or into/onto any other document or folder you wish

don't make the mistake i made by having all my eggs(pics) in one basket(storage facility) when i ended up loosing 15 years worth of pics

Thank you troubleScottie and swoody126 for the advice. I accomplished the task with ease after following your directions. The most valuable suggestion was to access the Gallery to acquire the pictures to save. I was trying to save pictures from the Hall of Fame and all I was doing was saving the LINK to the pictures. I hope this also helps another in the future.
