Exhaust Vent Recommendation Request

Postby greenchicken » Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:30 pm

Now that construction has finally begun I am looking for recommendation for some of the needed parts:

Let's start wth the main exhaust vent.

On the Teardroptrailerparts.com site there are a lot from $99 and up.

On Amazon I find a lot from $39 and up.

I want something that is blow air bow ways.

Anyone care to recommend one?

I was gonna use a 12v bilge vent/fan from (Coast) that is quiet and flows a lot of air but........ I never installed electrical.
Check em out, they have a bunch of different fans.

Fantastic fan. Had one in my teardrop and had one put in my standie. Got it from Vintage Trailer Supply and they are also on Amazon. No cheap but worth it.

Bite the bullet and get a brand-name RV roof fan, Max-Air, Hengs, Ventline (Dexter) and Fan-Tastic Fan (Atwood) being the big players. Expect to pay $100 - $200. Many people have cobbled together their own vent systems for less - and yes, they work! - but generally the pain of the initial price tag fades pretty quickly.

Get a good fan. While laying in bed on a hot night, stewing in your own juices, you will thank yourself for fast moving air.

I went with the Maxair. The thing I like is it has a ceiling fan function. Where you can have the hood closed and the fan can still blow down. My thinking in the colder months I can pull the warm air off the ceiling and have the hood cracked just a little for fresh air. Also you can have the hood full open even if raining. And the amp draw is low for speeds we’ll be running at night. .13-.28 Amps if I Ferber right.

Also I used the fan a lot while working inside the cabin. It was just sitting on the roof with temporary wiring.
