Showers!

Postby Dahlia47 » Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:57 pm

I have been asking around about bathing while you are camping or boondocking. Still a bit curious about set ups. I have a little set up for the outside, but for the inside, I am not quite sure. For both inside and outside, I would need a set up thats quick and easy to breakdown. Are there any accessories or set ups that you have found easy to use, set up, and of course successful? There are some spots that we will be going to that will not have hook ups. So I am doing a bit of planning ahead.

We used one of the petshowers for a year and it's still in the 'drop. (They do work BTW.)

But this is what we use now. It stays clipped in the back of the truck, under the camper all summer. At camp, it gets placed where the sun hits it. For a shower, we sometimes need to dump a pot of boing water into it.

 No batteries, no cords. After all, this is off-grid camping.

For privacy the little pop up ensuite tents are great. Although I hate trying to pack them up so I went to one where you have to put the poles in. Takes a few minutes longer to set up but much quicker to pack up. We just use ours for changing at the moment but they are designed to have a potty or a shower in them.Image

Have you tried a clear plastic bag (tent )over the pump sprayer? Would block the wind from removing heat.

I used this weed sprayer: https://www.amazon.com/Hudson-62063-Bugwiser-Sprayer-Galvanized/dp/B00004SWKA/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1549064674&sr=8-16&keywords=weed+sprayer+steel

I don't recall how many feet of 3/8? tubing I got at the hardware store. I bought a hose barb with a male garden hose head and found a sprayer I liked. It works well.
