Has any one tried one of these?

It seems like something that may work and not mounted on the roof.

One thing I was thinking about is that most antenna's are good for about 35 - 50 miles. Most of the camping I will do is in hilly terrain and quite far from bigger city's. I don't think most rv antennas will work very well for my situations. I guess my point is to consider you use habits before being disappointed in a purchase.

Anyway, the best solution we ever found was a 30-40 dollar amplified rabbit ear style antenna.
Works okay inside, but is better outside.
Big problem is that you have to plug it in.
No doubt some of the satellite systems are way better, but thats going a bit beyond the basic antenna idea.

I use a $35 Radio Shack amplified rabbit ear antenna. It will usually pull in 3 or 4 channels. Enough to get local news and good local weather forecasts.
