I believe that Don’s use of the term “mismatch” refers to the variations in Vmp and Imp values per the sticker on each 12v panel and the variations in Vmp and Imp values per the sticker on each 24v panel, not to the fact that 12v and 24v panels are wired together.

The best I ever saw out my my 2 180 12v panels was around 220 watts. Yesterday I saw 510 but I had to run my microwave and coffee machine since all the batteries are new and charged.

I am curious what the Vmp and Imp values are for each of your panels, and if they differ, by what percentage.

I don't know. 2 180 watt 12v and 2 265 watt 24v panels. Both from Grape Solar.

If the 12v panels are all the same and the 24 v panels are all the same, then there would be no "mismatch". Glad your panels are working well for you.

They are the same. I have 6 100amp Gel batteries, 3000 watt Xantrex inverter and 80 amp MPPT Epever charge controller. My main concern is being able to run the 110v Magic Chef dorm fridge without having to run the generator much. If I had known solar worked so well I would have bought 265 panels instead of the 180 I originally put up. Solar has come a LONG way since I tried it last time.

What I find strange is my new Gel batteries only want 15amps to charge per the specs. My old lead acid wanted it all. I have a Champion 3400 watt generator on a slide out rack when needed.
