I'm guessing you are talking about a cast iron propane ring if so I normally take 2 single burner rings with me - I use them for a cast iron fry pan or to boil the kettle but am in the process off making a sheet metal cover to cook a camp oven inside on the gas ring for the times I cant use a fire - ( national parks and fire restrictions )

very much like a produce that can be bought here in Australia - https://southernmetalspinners.com.au/sp ... 0mm-jumbo/
I have plenty of scrap sheet metal laying around so just a bit of cutting and folding to make a much cheaper version

Ive let the kids cook hot dogs on a skewer, that is about it. The use a lot of gas, a stove is way more efficient.

The "little red campfire" has an optional ring that you can use. Only problem is the carbon build up - flame is yellow for a reason. For cast iron it is ok but it made my tamale pot a mess to clean.
